Our Herdshare - Join the Waitlist

Access to fresh products from the farm before anyone else and that you otherwise can't get your hands on. We offer weekly pickups of A2/A2 milk, baked goods, and produce that herdshare members have access to before it goes to the farm stand. Products are subject to availability and seasonally rotate.

Our Dairy

Unpasteurized, non-homogenized, A2/A2; just how God intended.

We have our small herd of two dairy cows, Liberty and Ginger, who mingle with a beef cattle or two throughout the year. We have capacity for several families during a lactation cycle, and our model tapers off everyone to an even pickup volume as we approach dry-off, which means access to milk for ALL members for longer.

What is a Herdshare?

A "herdshare" or "farmshare" is an investment into the farm you want to buy product directly from. When you invest into the farm, you have access to the product produced by your investment, i.e. you own a share of the farm. In Michigan, you must be a member of the herdshare before you can make any purchases of dairy.

How to Join the Herdshare

Please contact us directly to know if we have availability for new membership. If we do, then you'll be asked to fill out a herdshare contract. At this time, we have opted for a looser contract for buyers to accommodate for our capacity limitations. The contract is subject to change at a moment's notice.

The Best Standards

We search for the best options for feed, buying from local producers of non-GMO or Organic feeds depending on the market. Carefully selecting the best hay ensuring pesticides were not used, and our animals are all on pasture 24/7 because a happy life for the animal means a better product for you in the end.

FAQ

The most common questions we're asked about our herdshare!

Calendar Pages

Are you a year-round herdshare?

Not at this time. It's a lot of work, we have three young kids, and full-time employment. Our dry-period is typically between mid-winter to early-spring.

Hand Holding Brown Paper Bag

Do I have to pickup every week?

No, we have customers that pickup weekly, as well as some that pickup once every two weeks or once every month. Be communicative on your frequency to sustain your membership.

Old-Fashioned Clock

What are the hours for pickup?

Sun up to sun down in the summer. During the months where the days are shorter, the fridge is accessible from 7 AM to 9 PM.

Cleaning Equipment

What are your sanitation practices?

Our equipment is cleaned and sanitized between each milking. The cows are thoroughly washed, rinsed, and have a iodine teat-dip before we begin milking into a closed-system milk machine. Milk is filtered and in the ice bath within the hour of milking.

Horse Stall

Do I have to pay a monthly fee whether or not I pickup?

No, we are a per-half-gallon herdshare. Pay for what you need. If you need more or less than your usual, just let us know. This is subject to change.

Route Planning

Do you deliver or meetup?

Not at this time. We don't produce enough volume to justify a delivery driver and meetups often end up being late or falling through.

Jar of Milk with Straws

What is the weekly limit for pickup volume?

Within reason, we have no limit. As long as milk is available it's first-come-first-serve. We keep our membership limited to avoid shortage on supply. We recommend contacting us via Facebook messenger to confirm availability before driving out.

Bill

What are the fees?

It is $10 to sign up, $5 per half-gallon, $3 deposit per jar (if you're not bringing your own).

Can I cuddle the cows?

You're more than welcome to visit the cows, but please don't enter the pastures. Our cows are friendly, but they are 900+ lb animals that don't know their own weight. A hug from Liberty could be your last...
